“No Cut” Brake Modulator

Rear-Alert | No Cut Brake modulator | Ninja 250RA while back we talked about the BackOff brake Modulator/Flasher but it does require a few wires to be cut for installation. Some crafty 2Fiddy’r has come out with a much less expensive option, that is also ‘No Cut’ installation.. (Can we say WIn-Win) Meaning it’s “Plug and Play”… So You can put away your soldering irons, butt plugs, and electrical tape and run right out and flash your neighbors.. (Whoa.. That can be taken a few different ways…) This no cut model is based off the Rear-Alert module, and installation should take no more than “2 minutes”..

So for those of you asking, ‘What exactly is a Brake Modulator, and why do I want one?” — Well it’s simple:

When your front or back brakes are applied, the modulator pulses your brake lamp for about 4 seconds. The lamp then stays on solid until you release the brakes. Re-applying the brakes causes the unit to pules the brake light an additional 4~5 seconds. Generally you get 7 or 8 pulses before the lamp stays on solid. Also, cutting the green wire doubles the flash time should you want your brake light to flash longer.

Remember, Visibility is key when it comes to safety when on a bike.

Galfer Stainless Kit - Installed and reviewed

Galfer Stainless Brake Line KitI was really excited when Beast over at KF gave me permission to repost this info about his stainless brake line upgrade. I have been waiting to do this for a while now — just waiting for atleast one guinea pig to make sure the kit has no issues… ;)

Originally posted about here I’m really surprised it took almost a month for someone to finally install and put some pictures up. But never the less, Beast gave the kit an as expected awesome review.

First off, if you’re not familiar with the benefits of this upgrade, please read the link below:
Link

My personal review of the upgrade is that these are must-have. Next to the Dynojet carb kit (install + tune), this is probably the best thing I’ve done to the bike. The brake levers (both front and rear) are incredibly firm and responsive now. It feels like I’m gripping the rotors with my own hands.

If you can’t already tell, I’m having a tough time trying to put to words exactly how much better the brakes “feel” haha.

This is really exciting news considering that spongy Brakes on the 250 are one of the biggest complaints you hear from the peanut gallery. In fact I’m so excited — I’m trying to get my hands on 2 sets now… You know.. perhaps for a 2Fiddy 4th o’ July giveaway… ;)

Galfer Stainless Brake Lines for Ninja 250R

Ninja 250R Stainless Brake LinesI have been watching the Galfer website like a hawk recently waiting for them to release the part numbers for pre made stainless braided brake lines for the 2008+ Ninja 250R… Still no luck, but I saw over at kForums that they have released part numbers.

Stainless brake lines are a great upgrade — not just for the track monkey — but also for the typical canyon killer. By upgrading to stainless lines your brakes will become more predictable. As you use your brakes, and the brake fluid heats up — the OEM rubber hoses will start to expand and can lead to braking fade and spongy leavers. By replacing the lines, you eliminate this expansion making the braking feel and response much more linear.

Note: Galfer doesn’t sell direct. So please contact one of their distributors to order.
