Airtech Streamlining Race / Street Bodywork

Ninja 250R Race / Street Bodywork

Seeing as how getting replacement fairings from Kawasaki seems to be damn near impossible right now, it’s good to see that the after market is picking up their slack. Airtech Streamlining is the first company I have seen that has come out with a full set of interchangeable Race / Street bodywork for the 250R — And also the first company that has an oil containment pan — which really smooths out the look of the whole bike.

All the parts are manufactured in house by Airtech Streamlining out of high quality fiberglass and are very reasonably priced. This is a really sharp package.. Someone needs to pick up a set of these and paint them up. I would love to see these on a finished bike.

Manufacture: Airtech Streamlining
Parts Numbers and Pricing are as follows:

2EX21C KAWASAKI EX250 UPPER FAIRING - COMPETITION $159.07
2EX21S KAWASAKI EX250 UPPER FAIRING - STREET $197.98
2EX22 KAWASAKI EX250 LOWER FAIRING - RIGHT $197.98
2EX23 KAWASAKI EX250 LOWER FAIRING - LEFT $197.98
2EX24 KAWASAKI EX250 TAIL SECTION - SUPERSPORT $197.98
2EX2OCP KAWASAKI EX250 OIL CONTAINMENT PAN $145.23
2EX25 KAWASAKI EX250 FRONT FENDER $82.99

(Note: Anyone notice the chain guard in the picture? Wonder if they’re holding out on us… ;) )

Thanks for the tip Charles!

Ninja 250R Racing at Talladega

Do you love all things Ninja Racing like I do? I love seeing these videos — Makes me wish there was a track closer then 3 hours away to me.. :(

Here is great video from the June 14th, 2008 WERA race @ Talladega. Not sure who the rider is — and the rest of the details are pretty vague — but a good watch never the less.

2009 WERA 250 Ninja Class

Hairu over at Kawiforums started the ball rolling on contacting WERA about a possible 2009 class:

I contacted WERA about a 2009 Ninja cup. They said that they would do it if Kawasaki supported the contingency. I then contacted the contingency department at Kawasaki and they expressed interest in supporting a 2009 WERA 250 Ninja Class. If you are interested in racing your 250r in WERA next year, let Kawasaki know. You can reach their contingency department at teamgreen.contingency@kmc-usa.com

If you’re interested in racing, or atleast supporting the idea of a 250 class, make sure you show your support.

SharkSkinz Race Bodywork

Sharskinz has released a complete race body work for the Ninja 250R… Available in 4 different pieces (1 Piece Upper, 1 Piece Lower, Race Tail, and Front fender) — The styling is not to far of a jump from stock, with the main exception of no headlight, and a really nicely sculpted rear tail. ( Plus the rail tail still lets you use the stock seat )

This is awesome that we’re starting to see more aftermarket support, but even more so, more race part support. Now we just need someone to make the same tail, with integrated brake and turn lights… And I’ll be one happy man.

PN: 2105 / 1 Piece Race Upper: ~$310
PN: 2106 / 1 Piece Race Lower: ~$200
PN: 2107 / Race Tail: ~$210
PN: 2108 / Front Fender: ~$103

More Pictures: Here
[ Note: It looks like they are selling their Dev bike for $3000 with the body work on it!! If you live in Florida this is a steal if your looking for a track bike! Link ]

Ninja 250R Racing

Ninja 250R Racing at Willow SpringsI love watching these Ninja 250R Racing Videos on YouTube… In fact, they have inspired me to start looking for some track classes this summer. In the mean time tho, I’m going to have to settle for some office chair admiration.

This video is of some practice laps at Willow Springs in California, and it’s just fun to watch, and listen to. If you notice, some of the larger sweeping turns the rider is flat out on the throttle the whole time. To give you an idea of the 250’s Performance in this video, This rider was running lap times of about 1:45 — Which is about the same as the SCCA record for a Spec RX-7 on that track. The difference is, besides motocycle vs. cager, is the Ninja was getting 50+MPG, and the rider never needs to start a sentence with “To understand the rotary, you need to first understand rounded triangles…” ;)

Ninja 250R Racing Video

This is the first video I have found on Youtube with the Ninja 250R taking some track time. The rider is Kawiforums member ‘cajuntlr’ and the track is “No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose”.

And, before you ask.. The exhaust on that bike is the Area-P, Which I must say sounds absolutely awesome..
