Many of us have been waiting for an Integrated taillight kit, or a no cut fender eliminator for a while now. Bikelitez.com just releases a new kit that is a true no-cut kit (With license plate light) that gives the deep mount look that a lot of sport riders like, all while getting rid of the banana hammock rear fender in the process.

Overall, I didn’t think I’d like the tucked look on the 250R.. But It won me over. Just make sure you check your Local laws first. I know some have strict license plate visibility laws. Other wise, if I hadn’t already chopped my fender — I’d probably fork up the cash for this one…

Keep in mind, the nice part of no cut kits, is that if you ever sell the bike, or state/local laws change, you can go right back to stock without worrying about random holes cut in your bike. (No amount of super glue and bondo would ever fix some of these fender chops! )

Instead of spending 100.00 plus dollars on a pre made fender eliminator kit where some of the after market versions say they won’t except the option rear seat cowl I thought I could make something for free and spend the 100 bucks somewhere else.

Tools that I used: Dremel with spiral cutter, grinding stones/burrs and the flex shaft attachment.

Time involved: Be ready to spend some time as the whole section of the bike must be taken apart where you will need to strip off the tail light housing so that you can work on it closely.

As much as I hate ebay, It doesn’t hurt to head over there every once in a while to see if any new parts have managed to slip past me, and the forums, and my readers, etc. etc.

Today I ended up finding a neat piece. eBayer Scotts870 is making carbon fiber rear huggers for the 250R. It’s actually a pretty nice little piece for custom made.. (And I can speak from experience — working with raw carbon fiber sucks…) Currently, the auction is running at $70.. Might be worth a bid..

Since we’re on the topic: Other Parts I’d like to see made in Carbon Fiber:
1. Chain Guard
2. The plastic thigh covers
3. Front Fender

Can y’all think of any more?

So after receiving my Competition werks Fender Elimintaor in the mail, the whole raw stainless look just didn’t seem to fit my bike. In fact - The Ninja is mostly black, with the only real splash of chrome coming from the exhaust… (And I still don’t think Chrome and Stainless Match very well…)

So after considering having the piece powder coated (Quoted ~50$ Locally) I figured that this was best left to the ol’ Ball and can approach. After searching through my paint collection I have built over the last 10 years, I found a can of some of my favorite stuff — Duplicolor Engine Enamel. If you can find this paint (Available at most major auto parts store, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. etc. ) It’s great to have on hand for painting parts. I last used it on Stainless Nitrous Bottle Clamps after 100’s of latching’s and bottle replacements there wasn’t a scratch or nick on them..

I just finished painting my fender eliminator, and while I was taking pictures of the process, reader Brian sent in some pictures of the Finished product. So I mashed the two together for everyone to Enjoy!

What? Don’t you like taking a hack saw and dremel to your brand new motorcycle? I guess I can’t blame you. Granted there are indeed some really nice DIY fender chops, if you’re looking to keep your stock parts in tact and want a really clean look check out the Competition Werks fender eliminator.

This can be ordered from their website for about $110 [USD] — But I have seen them floating around eBay for less than 100$. I actually just bought one and plan on painting it black to help it fit in a little better. I’ll post details on that later.

*UPDATE* Just got my kit, and looked at the instructions…. You DO have to cut the fender to install this. I’ll post a how-to this weekend.
