First, I need to preface this post by saying — I try my hardest to deliver any news, advice, and information that has to do with the Ninja 250R — Good or Bad — And I try to do it as open minded and objectively as I can, and in return I let y’all respond with the same respect as I don’t moderate comments in any way.

That being said, there is one truth that might upset some people for me saying it — but I haven’t heard it yet — and I think people want to hear it because of the emails I have been getting lately so I’m just going to do it: (Y’all really do email me about some of the craziest stuff… Don’t get me wrong, I love it.. But the emails need to include more pictures of chicks, puppies, chicks with puppies, and fire! )

Here is the jist of about 4 emails I received this weekend with the name “John” used instead:

Dear Mr 2Fiddy,

[… blah blah … ] I went into my dealer this weekend looking at a new bike, should I trade in my 250, or wait? Is $x,xxx for a Ubermoto 10000 a good price? is $x,xxxx a Good price for a trade in? [ … Yadda, Yadda… ]

So I have recently been going through the log files of 2Fiddy.com where I noticed some very interesting patterns. Upon further investigation, I have realized that we have a very frequent reader to this Site. Non other than good ol’ Kawasaki themselves from both the US and their JP offices.

In fact, You can clearly see when a comment or post peaks their interest, because you’ll see a bunch of hits right after the original access, most likely from some sort internal email… Really kinda funny. In fact, the 2009 Ninja 250R thread has been quite popular. [ I see you! *Waving* ]

In Addition, I have been receiving more and more emails from vendors giving me tips, and thanking me for posting about their products and wanting to work out giveaways… And asking me my opinion on parts… So we know Vendors are reading too… [ Hi guys! We love you too! *Waving* ]

Sooooooo.. This is our Wishlist Thread… Post Up what the heck you want, need, desire, and loath. It can’t hurt.. We have the audience we need, now — lets tell them how we roll! (And how we can roll mo’ better…)

What we Know:

Colors: Black, Blue, Red (No more Kawi Green)

My Thoughts:
I don’t think any of this is ground breaking news. It does suck that people who have deposits on 08’s @ $3499 might get bit for another $500 — That might even turn away a few prospective buyers — However, the used market is indeed picking up I’m seeing 250’s all over eBay and Craigslist. But — Unless we saw a YZF-250, CBR-250, GSX-250 or something similar hit the market, the price increase was pretty much inevitable. (And I have a hard time believing it’ll scare away enough buyers to hurt Kawasaki’s sales numbers)

I do think it’s pretty odd for them to drop green as a color. I would think that they would drop Red or Blue. However, since they did drop Green, it does leave the door open for a Kawi Green Special Edition… *shrug* Who knows.

Anyone have any updates on any physical changes? (No, there is not fuel injection on North American bikes. Please don’t ask…)

Wow - I have seen this thread over at Kawiforms for a few days now, and never clicked on it thinking it was some goober asking questions about some pipe dream he has about riding cross country — not actually someone doing it.

That’s right — some crazy bastard is riding his 2008 Ninja 250R Cross Country ( And by Country — I mean the good ol’ US of A… Not some micro country like, Vatacan City… ie. 3000+ Miles, EACH WAY!)

*sigh* I’m so Jealous. That is so rad — if you haven’t read the thread already, take some time and read it. It really sounds like quite the adventure, and I’m completely Jealous of you. I did some searching, and I cannot find any proof of any other 2008+ Ninja 250R doing any type of trip even close to what you’re doing.

It’s times like this that I love the internet… Check out this gem I found tonight… I guess it’s just like the Dodge Tomahawk… Just instead of 600+hp it’s 150cc’s… (I know, You have to look really, really, really hard to tell the difference…)

Seriously, if I had an extra 1400$ laying around I would not only be ordering this tonight, I would be getting my custom “Parking for Tron Bike Only” sign for in the garage… And despite the fact that this bike is indeed “Not Street Legal” — I would ride this everywhere no matter what the cost of the tickets… Because, you just can’t put a price on awesome.

Wow — who would of thought that 2Fiddy.com would ever have two posts about iPhones in the same week? Well, sorry if this pisses you off Blackberry guys… But this is Post worthy..

The crafty donkies over at BunsenTech have come up with some nice iPhone software that lets you take advantage of the accelerometers and GPS features of the new iPhone 3G. Installing the software turns your phone it into performance metering software Dynolicious.

Now I really need to get a mount for my iPhone on my bike.. Because this software will give you:

• 0-60 Acceleration
• 1/4 Mile Elapsed Time
• Lateral G’s
• Horsepower

Granted it’s software based performance numbers, and not as exact of a science as strapping your bike to a drum.. But, it’ll still be a nice lil toy to have and play with for $12.95… I’m going to give this a whirl in the near future, and I’ll make sure I post the details when I can.

So, one of our readers sent us in some pictures of his proof of concept exhaust hanger that he is thinking about creating for our beloved Ninja 250R’s… But he is looking to Gauge interest on wther or not it is worth creating these bad boys..

Well… Ummm.. HELL YEAH! It’s worth it… But he’s not just looking for my word, he’s looking for our readers word as well.. So tell him what you think… He says He’s going to try and get them to be around $60/each… Which I think is a fair price to slap some billet on my bike and get rid of those rear pegs…
