Apex Slip On

Apex Slipon for Ninja 250

One of our readers KL sent in a nice picture of his new FMF Racing Apex Slip-on Exhaust (previously covered here). In fact, since that time, Apex has updated their site, and the exhaust they are offering for the Ninja 250 is the cylindrical version of the exhaust — not the diamond shaped one. All that aside, this exhaust comes in two forms Carbon Fiber and Titanium, and is overall a nice piece in the slipon category for this bike. (Price $400 - $435)

Cool exhaust but a little expensive when compared to the Area P carbon full system. The full system is the only way to go if your already going to pay 400 plus dollars for a slip on. Area P has the performance numbers to match any other aftermarket exhaust system out there for the 250R and they also have a good customer service reputation to boot. My choice was simple and I’m happy with my purchase. Now if FMF offered this slip-on for 300 bucks I might have gotten it because it looks pretty cool and I know FMF knows exhausts. Now just release a full system with the MegaBomb header pipe for the 250R and it might make more power then the Area P. I actually don’t know if they can make this work but it would be super cool. You can find the FMF PowerBomb and MegaBomb headers on some of the most expensive and fastest 4-stroke motocross bikes in the world.

I bought this slip on from Waynesville cycle and it does not fit.No way no how.Sent it back to FMF Racing and they tell me it fits their “jig” perfectly.I sent them pictures showing the difference in diameter of the factory exhaust pipe to no avail. They are going to send it back to me.
A $370.00 doorstop?Anyone here bought this slip on and had the same issues? Not only is the diameter all wrong, even if it was correct, the section that slips over the exhaust is too short.
    Why me???????

Something’s is very wrong here as it does not make any sense. I don’t know what to tell you but there is a major miss understanding somewhere. Maybe they sent you one for the 250R Kawasaki 4 stroke motocross bike exhaust by mistake but that would be obvious. You might need to specify that it’s not just a 250R as Kawasaki makes a few 250R‘s. I’ve never heard of this before as they have been in business for years and years and are a very reputable company where they sell all over the world to some of the fastest riders in the world. Did you buy it from an online store or from a moto dealership? I don’t think FMF sells directly to the public so you ought to be able to return it to the store you bought it from if it has not become damaged. I don’t know of any companies that would just say tough luck to a problem like this. If they don’t fix it report it to the better business bureau or if you used a credit card to buy it contact them and they might be able to resolve it or give you your money back. Very strange….
