Wrap that pickle then slip her a tickle

Ninja 250R Vinyl Wraps

I’m shooting blanks on the titles guys… err.. I mean.. I’m trying to be creative… but my mind just goes soft.. *Sigh*

Anyways, If you’re looking for a neat way to change up the look of your Ninja without having to take it to the paint booth… Wrap it. Thats right, slap some V’s up on that bitch! ( And by V’s I mean Vinyl, not Viagra.. How did this post go so wrong so quickly? )

The Guys over at Powersports Wraps create DIY vinyl wraps, for what seems to be all things motor sports, now have some pictures of Wrapped Ninja’s on their Blog. Apparently, no specific kit is needed just buy enough of the pattern you like and get wrapping, stretching, and cutting. The wrap in the picture above cost about $300 in materials… Exponentially less for the same designs to be done with an Airbrush.

Manufacture: Powersports Wraps
Price: Varies depending on Materials

How long will this “Vinyl” last?

I would assume that airbrush would last a lot longer then this.

Actually, Vinyl has come a long way in the last few years… The UV coatings and ink they now use does a great job standing up to the test of time…

And With a wrap vs. Airbrush, if you destroy a panel, you just need to get a new piece of wrap and match the patterns… No need to take it to the airbrush guy…

I have been looking at the vinal decals like they have at tapeworks.com and I am wondering how hard these things are to get on, especially for someone without any experience. I have been thinking about getting one if these kits in a reflective color so I can be more visible at night, but I am afraid I would screw it up if i tried to put one on. I am just wondering if there was anyone here that has had any experience with these kits. I would appreciate some insight. :)

    Michelle…

I’m getting my vinyl done by a local sign company and they said it would be around $100 for what I want. Try going that route and hopefully they will install it for you as well.

My bf’s bike has an awesome custom pain job, but I didn’t want to spend the $$ on my first bike (for many reasons), but I also wanted to make the bike my own. When I sell it, I can always remove the vinyl if the buyer doesn’t like it….. That’s why I chose vinyl :)
