A-Tech Carbon Fiber Rear Hugger
Remember back a few weeks ago when we all were drooling over the A-Tech Carbon Fiber Rear Hugger… And then we all went on to bitch about how we can’t get any of these cool parts over here in the US? Well, That didn’t stop one of our beloved 2Fiddy readers from skirting the system and getting one of these bad boys sent over the pond..
And lemme say this… It was worth every freaking penny…
This is some of the highest quality Carbon fiber work I have seen in a while.. And the look is just sick. The rear hugger and chain guard now make a one piece shroud that is an absolute panty dropper.
So how did our buddy Chris order this bad boy? He used an online service called “Rinkya” — Which is an ordering proxy service that will order the part locally in Japan, and ship it direct to you (For a small fee of course).
Awesome piece man! I’m Majorly jealous.. And Thanks for Hooking 2Fiddy.com up with the pics and details!
So, enough of this chatter… And onto some eye candy!

Do you have to leave the Rear Foot Peg off in order to Put this hugger on?

1) Do you have to leave the Rear Foot Peg off in order to Put this hugger on? - No, I just left it off for the photo although it did make it made it easier to work with it removed. You do need to remove the exhaust, brake line guide and one end of your rear brake line. Install takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
2) Grand total (shipped) was about $385 ish. Took about a month to get it all.
Luigi, I’m going to make a “HOW TO” link on the kawiforums for people who are interested. But read that Rinkya site…..they explain how their company works really well.

There is no way you can use a larger tire with this hugger. This was made for the stock tire size and nothing more.

At last the A tech Hugger has installed to my ninja! And this hugger fit to my battlax 92 150/60! This mean if u want to buy Hugger A Tech and also want bigger tire this is the answer.

Chris,
Much props on your bike. By far, you have achieved a look I’m striving for. By the way, did you also paint the rims? I liked the way you brought out the gold twill color from the carbon fiber. Very nice attention to detail bro! Any reason you didn’t add flush mounts turn signals?
In any case, your Ninja is AWWEEESSSOMEE! Please post how we can order and install (translations). My Japanese is not up to speed now-a-days. Thank you.

Well guys, it’s very possible to get one of these. You simply need to contact the manufacturer directly. I have confirmed he WILL ship outside of Japan on his own. I have one on the way to Colorado. The CF pattern in all of the pics is 27,000 Yen plus 4,700 Yen EMS postage to the US. Total of 31,700 Yen. This is $348.64 USD.
Email Akito Miyazaki at A-Tech.

Here is the e-mail I got from him. It’s in Engrish, but it’s readable.

I sent them a bunch of emails, and I keep getting weird responses, I don’t think they understand that I want them to send it to me in the USA. They keep telling me to use the automated system, and I have no idea wtf any of it says.
