Exhaust Hanger’s?!?!
So, one of our readers sent us in some pictures of his proof of concept exhaust hanger that he is thinking about creating for our beloved Ninja 250R’s… But he is looking to Gauge interest on wther or not it is worth creating these bad boys..
Well… Ummm.. HELL YEAH! It’s worth it… But he’s not just looking for my word, he’s looking for our readers word as well.. So tell him what you think… He says He’s going to try and get them to be around $60/each… Which I think is a fair price to slap some billet on my bike and get rid of those rear pegs…
So, If you want these — Comment here and tell him to start cranking these bad boys out — And Make sure you tell All your friends to do so as well.. Because all I have to say is DIBS!!! — I get #1…

question though. how much of a weight difference between the stock w/o pegs vs this? What kind of material is it made of?

looks good matches the pipe, but black would fit with the bike better unless you plan on polishing other pieces.
I would really like an Exhaust hanger made out of Carbon fiber so it can match my pipe

Well, black is easy.. It’s nothing that a can of High-temp spray paint or powder coat can’t fix..
Now carbon fiber on the other hand… Would be super rad nice… But I’m not sure if we’ll see that anytime soon… I’ve never had much luck with Carbon fiber parts you “bolt on”… And in this case, if you dropped your bike — the Aluminum will bend, CF will shatter — and that would just end badly for your headers, and head bolts… Like, really badly…

Thanks so far for your input. It seem like a lot of people would like to see it black.
I think powdercoating would raise the price too much but will check with a local coater.
They are made from aluminum.
My husband’s pipe is cf and he said he would probably paint his black with Hi temp paint.

Did you try a version using two “flatter” bends? One “up” @ the mounting edge, and a second “down” to angle back parallel to the pipe mounting…

If it came nicely painted in black, I’d get it for $60, or like $70 for powder coat. I’ve been thinking about making one for my wifes bike, but I’d rather pay $60 and be done with it!

I was thinking more in the area of 30 to 40 dollars non painted or closer to the 50.00 for a powder coated version. I would ditch my passenger pegs for that. Makes me wish I had a third axis laser/water jet cutter and a bunch of bullet aluminum surplus setting around.

I am looking into price of powdercoating. That is the pipe I got when I ordered from my dealer.
I wonder if you can call Yoshamura and ask if you can get one like it, It was pretty early in the release maybe they had to mix and match. I am glad they did.

Oh I just emailed Mr 2fiddy.. Here is an update. Getting quote on plasma cutting from a different fab co. ( less clean up )
Black powdercoating has been quoted.
Might go to lighter steel for strength. The bends on my prototype seem a little weak, but maybe the bend wasn’t with the correct grain.
I might offer alum but seems like everyone wants black.
Finally found the spacers for the install kit I want to use. sorry it takes soo long for all of this.
