Time for another 2Fiddy Giveaway? Yup…

Two weeks ago we posted about a No Cut Brake Light Modulator for the Ninja 250R, and after ordering one for myself I was really impressed with the lil guy, so I worked out a deal to give one away to a Lucky 2Fiddy Reader.

So, we’ll run this contest until Monday (Aug 4th) until noon. How to enter? Just comment on this post, with any story that involves a any close call you have had on a bike. The winner will be chosen by random by ‘Ace-at-mind’ (The guy nice enough to hook us up with this giveaway…)

Sorry International guys — US and Canada only need apply.. :(

In the meantime, if you can’t wait to win, you can pick one up here.

And the Winner is….

Need a Dyno for your 250R? Buy an iPhone…

iPhone Dyno software | ninja 250rWow — who would of thought that 2Fiddy.com would ever have two posts about iPhones in the same week? Well, sorry if this pisses you off Blackberry guys… But this is Post worthy..

The crafty donkies over at BunsenTech have come up with some nice iPhone software that lets you take advantage of the accelerometers and GPS features of the new iPhone 3G. Installing the software turns your phone it into performance metering software Dynolicious.

Now I really need to get a mount for my iPhone on my bike.. Because this software will give you:

  • 0-60 Acceleration
  • 1/4 Mile Elapsed Time
  • Lateral G’s
  • Horsepower

Granted it’s software based performance numbers, and not as exact of a science as strapping your bike to a drum.. But, it’ll still be a nice lil toy to have and play with for $12.95… I’m going to give this a whirl in the near future, and I’ll make sure I post the details when I can.

HR1 Exhaust

HR1 Exhuast Ninja 250R

Hardrock Motorsports Released their HR1 exhaust for the Ninja 250R this past week. This is an interesting lil’ (literally) Exhaust, and finally brings something new to the mix vs your standard stainless / titanium / carbon fiber offerings…

The HR1 is small.. But, with it’s small size, it does give you the benefit of weight savings. The slip on canister weighs in at only 3.5 Lbs. In addition the HR1 has an interesting bit of technology built into it… Hardrock Motorsports calls it it “Variable Back Pressure Adjuster” — Which allows the user to adjust the back pressure of the exhaust to maximize mods.. Very Interesting.. Sorta grow as you go..

I haven’t found any sound clips or vids yet. But as soon as I do, I’ll make sure and get them up.

UPDATE: Video after the jump. Thanks for the link Michal!

Manufacture: hardrock Motorsports

Price: ~$425.00

Seat lowering: DIY How-To

Ninja 250R Seat LoweringReader John sent in some great details for people looking to minify the height on their 250R without the use of Lowering Links.

Cool Trick John! Thanks for the submission!

Dr Mr. 2Fiddy,

I did the same mod on my GXSR 1000, as it helped me to touch the ground flat footed. I did this mod to the 250 for my wife who is only 5′1″ tall. She can now touch flat footed with her riding boots on. And the bike suspension hasn’t been disturbed so she can still carve up the corners with the best of them.

I gutted the seat down to the base, cleaned all the glue off and sanded it. Then I filled the voids in the seat base with 30 minute epoxy. If I was going to do this again, I would probably fill the voids with something easier to work with like Bondo. The void filling process should be done in two steps as the back of the seat pan is at an angle much different than the bottom….

Zero Gravity Windscreens

Zero Gravity Windscreens

Zero Gravity has updated their website to include three new windscreens for the Ninja 250R. In addition, I must give them some mad props for the compare pictures. So Rarely do you see manufactures take the time out to do a compare like the one above.

Both the SR and the Double Bubble look hot.. But for all of you with iron tooshies their sport touring option might be a nice addition to help with the highway wind beating you take with the stocker.

And for those of you with a crazy side, there are 10 Colors to choose from.. I wonder how well the colors match OEM Kawasaki colors.. Any one have any preference with Zero Gravity colored windscreens in the past?

[Thanks for the tip Charles!]

Pricing:
SR Series (20-281) : $79.95
Double Bubble (16-281): $89.95
Sport Touring (23-281): $89.95

No Cut Fender Eliminator

No Cut fender eliminator | Ninja 250rMany of us have been waiting for an Integrated taillight kit, or a no cut fender eliminator for a while now. Bikelitez.com just releases a new kit that is a true no-cut kit (With license plate light) that gives the deep mount look that a lot of sport riders like, all while getting rid of the banana hammock rear fender in the process.

Overall, I didn’t think I’d like the tucked look on the 250R.. But It won me over. Just make sure you check your Local laws first. I know some have strict license plate visibility laws. Other wise, if I hadn’t already chopped my fender — I’d probably fork up the cash for this one…

Keep in mind, the nice part of no cut kits, is that if you ever sell the bike, or state/local laws change, you can go right back to stock without worrying about random holes cut in your bike. (No amount of super glue and bondo would ever fix some of these fender chops! ;) )

Price: ~150$

Dr. Mister 2Fiddy,

My boyfriend just got us 2 brand new Ninja’s — so I got us 2 brand new iPhones. Do you have any iPhone wall papers that we could use?

What a crazy week! But we have a winner!

Ninja 250R WinnerWow guys… What a crazy week it has been…. Not only did we have a contest kicking it full swing, but I was called away for a business trip, so I did a call out for some content from the readers..

First — I have so much 2Fiddy Email right now to go through! Y’all really came through for me, and I got up as much of it as I could. (If you don’t see your submission yet — give me a day or two to sort through everything) — On top of that,  I received so many just random emails about the site with ideas, and offers for more giveaways.. Just completely over whelming how popular this lil’ site has become in such a short time.

Second — The Galfer Braided Stainless Brake Line Giveaway. This contest ended last Friday, and if you’re not the winner — No worries, I have ANOTHER giveaway already for later this week. And the winner is

Kawasaki UK Shows some Ninja Candy

Turn Signals FrontKawasaki UK updated their website recently to add in some neat goodies for the Ninja 250R. No updates on the US site (I mean common, they still have a picture of a 07 up for parts!) — But rumor has it there will be some parts released Stateside during the dealer meeting in October.

The parts that jumped out at me were the Bubble Windscren and the LED Turn Signals. Hopefully some of these (If they are DOT approved *shrug*) Start showing up stateside…

Thanks for the tip Nathan.
