Ninja 250R Top Speed / WOT Video

Here is a video of a completely stock Ninja 250R running through the gears.. It’s pretty good quality, and gives a great example of the scoot that the lil 250 Has. This rider being about 140lbs tops out at about 110mph.

Now, if someone can make a video of a nicely modded 250R doing the same thing, we will send you some of the finest meats and cheeses…

    I only see 100mph, not 110mph.

100 ain’t that bad for a little ninja, considering most of the owners want it for the MPG.

Yeah, 100 Is not bad at all… But there will still be people that want 150…

I’d Really like to see the same video with a modded bike, and even better someone that has +1′d their sprockets…

Great vid, and it answered one of my questions that I hadn’t posted yet, “will the stock 250 pull redline in top gear”? It would appear from the vid it won’t.

I agree with Mr. 2Fiddy, I would like to see a modded 250 with a 15t sprocket. I doubt even with mods the 250 won’t pull redline in top gear w/ a 14t sprocket, let alone a 15t.

From the dyno charts I’ve seen, power peaks at about 11000-11500 rpm and then falls down from there. Ideally you would gear for peak speed to be attained right at that point or just slightly after. Pulling to redline doesn’t mean much on this motor because the power drops off pretty significantly. A full exhaust setup that moves the peak power higher up the power band would be the most likely solution if you want to pull redline in top gear.

    YZBot,

If you go here: http://www.2fiddy.com/2008/04/yoshimura-exhaust-for-08-ninja-250r/ and check out the Yosh Dyno w/ Jet Kit… Power Builds till red line… Vs. Stock that drops like you said around 10-11K+

With that same setup I’ve hit the rev limiter once or twice because the bike is still pulling… Vs Stock where you can clearly feel the drop off…

Thanks for the heads-up on the dyno results.

It’s clear a stage III system will pull redline with a 14t sprocket. I wonder if it can with a 15t, at a 7% taller final drive?

Also, if you take into account the differences in the two dynos (stock vs stock) between the Area P and the Yosh, it appears the Area P out performs the Yosh. They both end up over 30hp but the Area P readings are lower in stock form all the way up the chart. So presumably, if you put the Area P bike on the Yosh dyno, you would see more power than what is being delivered by the Yosh system on the Yosh dyno. If the differences are strickly attributed to the different dynos, the Area P system produces about 1 - 1.5 hp more than the Yosh up the chart. Perhaps there are subtle differences in jetting, or in the bike’s baseline hp that are affecting the results, but without the benefit of having one dyno to test all the systems at once, Area P looks like the one. Hard for me to admit, having been a long time Yosh fan.

Any of you guys that have a full system, and stage 3 jetting know how much has your mileage dropped off??

Glad to see my video is being put to use! On this run, top speed was about 101mph. As stated, I did the run again with a Two Bros. slip on. It accelerates harder and top speed went to about 106mph. A Dynojet kit will go on soon and I’ll do the run again for comparison. And yes, the oil had been changed….several times in fact. So there’s no need for name calling…..
